The Dentokan is about teaching, training, and having fun together, We take our martial arts very seriously, and we have a strong focus on technical excellence, and the preservation and correctness of our outstanding lineage. We support each other, train hard and party hard.
Being a member of the Dentokan is hugely enjoyable and rewarding, but is also a long term commitment to support each other. It is not for everyone, but if you are that kind of person, it's a wonderful place to practice your martial arts.
We have our base in Kyoto, Japan, but are well represented in more than 20 countries worldwide.

What it means to be in the Dentokan
You are actively learning and practicing a Dentokan art and/or
You are actively teaching and grading students in a Dentokan art
If you are a senior yudansha (Godan and above) you are also promoting the Dentokan as a reputable organisation
The Dentokan is rooted in the preservation of the traditional martial arts which have been passed down to us. It is important that we continue to preserve our lineage in the right way, and maintain a consistent link with the past. Concerning the arts themselves, you should be practicing and teaching them as taught to you, without amendment or variation in their core form.
When you teach a Dentokan art, it is something we should be proud of. You should be publicly referencing it as a Dentokan art, both written and online, not naming it as a generic method/art.
It should be Dentokan Aikijujutsu, Dentokan Okinawan Kobujutsu, Dentokan Karate, Dentokan Iaijutsu.
You should be aware that not all organisations have our commitment to high quality and legitimate teaching. Any gradings, positions, or memberships held outside the Dentokan must not bring discredit upon the good name and reputation of the Dentokan.
Participation in any events or activities outside the Dentokan likewise must not bring discredit upon the good name and reputation of the Dentokan
